Since Cantha and Kamadan are new to you, go for it. Why not? You already paid for it, lol.
PvP...if you are used to an ele, stick with it. Just be sure to check on your skills in PvP, as some are different than in PvE. Opinions are like a$$holes. Everyone has one, and they usually stink. |

The only reason people say pve sucks is because they're the idiots who decided to rush to get all of the titles and dungeons and EVERYTHING completed for GW2 instead of spreading it out like they should have.
Most people of which did everything in a month when gw2 was practically announced, and all they do now is whine about everything. I'd say if everything is new to you beyond factions, then come on back. Dungeons are always fun, especially frostmaw's, in my opinion, and the stuff you can get in eotn is really nice. For pvp, there is the caster elementalist for heavy dps/degen, although a mesmer/necro does the degen part and shutdown better, and with lyssa's aura an assassin/mesmer can just dancing daggers his way to a kill. Mix it up a little. Just don't try to heal people as a warrior/ monk with glimmer of light, for the love of god |

i think the dungeons are tooooo long, it gets tiring after that "60th mob" you have to kill.(instead of run) And relating to the above, even if you DON'T get everything fast, now money making so practically a snap......and it is Hard to resist the "temptations" of these overpriced items.(also, imo titles are just proof of how little a life you have.....doesn't bring anything of value to you, or you chara)
But sure, a new Cathan maybe worth awhile......IF you can pug it through the boring stuff first. |

Knowing there is nothing new to expect but the odd skill balance and new tonic there really isn't much to look forward to anymore. We knew Eye of the North would basically be the end of new content. At this point we had been introduced with overpowered PvE skills, and then eventually consumables. Now instead of forcing players to become better to achieve their goals it's just a matter of abusing those skills and items. You can do everything faster, more easily. People have done everything and either move on, grind the dull titles, or farm gold to buy everything for their Hall of Monuments.
I stopped playing for four months, came back to do the M.O.X. quests hoping it would spark interest again. Feel completed deflated knowing the only thing I can do is grind millions of gold. |

I would still gladly return to and enjoy PVE again with 7 hereos. PVE wont suck anymore then.
Untill then, the game is dead and it sets a very negative example for how GW2 will turn out. |

They're somewhat obsolete, to be frank. If you want a ranged dps class, I recommend Expert's Dexterity ranger, or Mindblast/Shatterstone Elementalist. That's assuming you're planning on playing guild vs guild. For RA or AB, just about whatever your imagination can come up with can churn out the big numbers.

Welcome back to GW. In my opinion, though GW is going down, you might experience lack of players to group for missions or/and pvp depending on time. Other than that, since you just returned to play the game, you are unlikely to get bored as fast.
Even if that happens, there are still many challenges you can try. Doing mission in different ways you did in the past, playing game in Hard Mode, unlocking pvp items/skills/heroes with balthazar faction you earn...etc. And switching between PVE and PVP should keep the interest of playing GW longer. |

Just remember, there are those who spend their time posting (usually bashing the game) and those who are still playing and have never heard of Guru or any other forum. If you are all about instant gratification and do it all as fast as possible, you to will soon become as jaded as many people here. On the other hand if you like variety(try many different professions, both PvE & PvP) and don't feel you have to complete the game as fast as humanly possible, do come back.

Then I logged in - looked at the game and though that the things I could do wouldn't even be fun with a full hero party. The game has much bigger issues then the need for heroes. The only thing that is saving it is the fact that other games are even worse. But then again - do you really want to play a shitty game because other games are shittier or would you rather waste your time by doing something that actually isn't shitty? |

Welcome back and ignore the "GW is dead" comments, please - it's only dead for some Guru people but if you login and play you won't feel this negativity. I don't see where people get this shit from, the game is very active, pretty fun and worth playing. If possible return to GW, and quit GURU, lol.
PvE got a little old to me for sure, now that my main reached most titles I wanted. But I still play with friends to help in a mission or vanquish and it's nice. PvP is a blast. I RA whenever I am short on time, and drop by Heroes' Ascent for some organized matches when I have more time, and it is a lot of fun. Haven't done GvG because I have more fun at HA, but you should have no problem finding a Guild that does it daily. |

Actually no, if you log into GW you'll find that it IS actually pretty dead. Almost no GvGs, almost no HA matches, almost all the towns in the game are empty. Unless I live on another planet where everything is backwards, no one playing the game means that it's dead. Ignore Windf0rce, apparently he got it a little mixed up.

PvE has had no new content in over a year (MOX quest really doesn't count). It's the same old stale shit it's been for awhile. Pugs are still bad, and now they're using extremely boring cookie cutter builds to do elite missions (terra tanks, cry mesmers, etc). PvP is horrible. Getting into serious PvP is a bitch, it's quite unbalanced, and you'll get bored really fast of the super lame builds people are running. On top of all that, good luck finding a good, active guild. |

Who cares if the so called "good players" don't play anymore? (Unless you are referring to PvP.) As far as PvE where is it said you have to be good to have fun playing the game? I consider myself an average player who has been playing for over 3 years. I don't rush anything and still have much to do in game. The game is not dead, it may not have the same base of long time players, but you can still find many districts open in the major cities. ANET can buff and nerf all they want, I still play because I can adapt to what they give me to use. The day I don't have fun playing is the day I will quit, it hasn't come yet.

Frankly the only thing I could see myself coming back and "playing" through the game again would be to make a 55er or a farm sin and I don't know about other people but that same old repetitive rinse repeat farming BS was the reason I left D2 (oddly enough competitive imbalances also played a major role, go figure...)
